Bernice, it sounds like you had a very nice day. The craft show sounds fun
and there was quite a variety.

I'm glad you were able to go and had a friend to go with you.

I hope your temps go down very soon.

Nella

Today is the sixth day of this heat wave with temps over 90, and we have one
more coming tomorrow before it breaks with a cool front and thunder storms.

We don't usually do much for the summer holidays because there are so many
fire crackers and other cherry rockets going off. My son-in-law has P T S D
from being Iraq and they are terrifying for him.

My older grandson is at a Christian camp this week, and it is way too hot to
be outside.

Well, I called someone from my church who's husband died about 2 years ago
and asked her if she would like to go to my town's celebration with me. It
just so happened that she was going to go anyway. They have had things going
on for a few days, and today was the parade and craft sale and games and
good food. I of course, wanted to see the crafts. I begged off on going to
the parade, because my leg is still quite painful. I wanted to save my
walking for the crafts. This is the first time I left my LoLo home since I
got her. She didn't seem to mind spending a bit of time in her crate. It was
just too hot to drag her along.

There was a tie die vendor where I bought myself a tote bag and one for my
daughter also. There were home made jams, jellies, honey, and peanut butter.
One vendor had home made dog treats that sounded pretty healthy. Several
jewelery vendors were interesting. I was going to buy a matching bracelet
and necklace, but I couldn't find the color I wanted. So many of them have
their own web site as this one did. I can go online and pickout the beads
and they will make it for me.

The real find that I was excited about was wooden trivets. This man cuts
them in such a way that when you pull up on the handle, you see that the
lines are really cuts and they unfold into a really cool basket. I saw his
work at our Lilac festival for a couple of years, but not this year. I kept
bugging the person I was with at the festival about finding him. Today, he
said he hadn't been their. The trivits were a rabbit, frog, a shamrock, a
heart, and a rectangle. Before I had seen a maple leaf, so I asked if he had
one and he said no. Can you make one and mail it to me, I asked. He said he
would. So, it pays to ask for what you want.

I watered my flowers and vegetables this morning before it got very hot, and
after the craft sale I finished the book I was reading and caught up on
emails. So I didn't do anything patriotic, but I have enjoyed being here in
my air conditioning.

Bernice and the adorable LoLo.

Happy, happy Independence Day to all you KK crafters

I need to apologize about not sending out Want To Know Wednesday last week;
I just found it in my draft folder. I'm not really sure how that happened,
but it did, so I will include the question in this message.

Actually it's not really a question, but more of a challenge. I wanted
everyone to try to get the contact information for a person who might be a
good Monday night chat speaker. I'm sure you folks at convention are
meeting countless interesting people, so tell them about KK and ask if they
would like to speak to the group. I'm sure the rest of us have friends,
church members, relatives or coworkers who might be interesting speakers.

Jill has agreed to take on Monday Night Chat due to all the changes in my
life. Let's all give her a hand and make Monday night chat better than
ever.

Now for this week's questions.

What is everyone doing for Independence Day?

Did any of you make craft items or decorate using red, white and blue?

Perhaps Tracy is knitting patriotic socks. Lol

I hope all of you are having a wonderful holiday.

Take care and be safe out there.

Nella
