This is a really good idea. We made and sold dog treats in a jar. For
our division in Colorado. We also tied a cookie cutter to the jar.

Well, I have all of the ingredients to make these today. I don’t know that
they will make it into the jar.

Another idea is to substitute raisins for the chocolate chips. Just put
them in a clear baggie & place them on top of the other ingredients in the
jar.

Hey Cindy, thanks for sharing this recipe with us. I got plenty of milk to
go along with these cookies, smile.
I would probably substitute raisens for the chocolate chips.

Thanks Tammy!!! Look at you sharing great things with the group. Sorry I
missed the chat. Here is a Oatmeal Cookie in a jar recipe I would like to
share. I added to the subject line not to confuse anyone.

Here is a recipe for you all:

YIELDS

36 cookies
INGREDIENTS

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup firmly packed Domino® Dark Brown Sugar
1 1/4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup mini chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a small bowl. Spoon
into a 1-quart, wide-mouthed canning jar. Layer remaining ingredients in
order given, making sure to pack down each layer firmly. Clean inside of
jar
with a dry paper towel after each layer. Decorate lid by cutting fabric
into
a 7-inch wide square or circle. Secure with a rubber band and tie with a
decorative ribbon and accents.

Attach these instructions to the jar:
In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1/2 cup softened butter or
margarine,
1 egg and 2 teaspoons vanilla until combined.

Slowly add contents of jar and mix well. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and
place on greased cookie sheet. Using the back of a spoon, flatten cookies
slightly.

Bake at 350°F for 12 to 14 minutes or until lightly browned.

Cindy Z.

Subject: [NFB-Krafters-Korner] Clay Dough Ornament

Since we talked about working with clay and making ornaments during our
Chat
tonight, I thought I would share the following recipe.
***Recipe***

Claydough Holiday Ornaments

2/3 cup cornstarch
(more for dusting and dipping the cutters)
1 cup baking soda
3/4 cup water
In medium sized pot combine the cornstarch, baking soda and water. Stir
the
mixture over medium-low heat. After a couple of minutes, the mixture will
begin to thicken.
When it looks like smooth mashed potatoes, remove the pot from the heat.
Spoon the ball of dough into a bowl and cover it with a damp cloth until
it's cooled. When it is completely cooled knead the dough on a smooth
surface, adding a little more cornstarch if it feels sticky. *If you want
to
add food coloring to the dough at this point just add a little at a time
since a little goes a long way.
Santa Ornament
Preheat oven to 175 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll
out the claydough as you would regular dough to 1/4" in thickness and dust
the surface lightly with cornstarch. If needed cornstarch can be used to
dust onto the inside of Aunt Chick's Cookie Cutters to prevent sticking
also. Transfer shapes to the prepared baking sheet. Use a straw to poke
holes in the center top of each ornament. Place the ornaments (face up) in
the oven at 175 degrees for about an hour, turn the cookies over 1/2 way
during baking.
Paint and decorated with acrylics, puff paints, glitters, beads and any
other baubles you can think of!
To preserve your ornaments they can be sprayed with a clear varnish and
let
sit.
Tie a ribbon through the hole and knot it to hang it on your tree.

Enjoy!
