[Nfb-krafters-korner] Knitting: picking up wraps

I understand the pattern well.  I know how to wrap the stitches, and I
even know why.  The thing I'm having trouble with is feeling the wraps on
the wrapped stitches so I can "pick up the wrap and knit it with the
stitch".
Sock yarn is thin, and the wrapping is snuggled along the base of the
stitch to be knitted.  So, does anyone have a trick for feeling the little
rascals?
