>From my understanding after speaking to Tammy, the first phone will not be a class, but rather a discussion with teacher and students for the teacher to know what folks are interested in learning.  

Remember we have a few folks who are at the beginning stages of learning how to crochet.  So what is all the fuss about and I agree with Tammy why wait to get this off the ground.

Even if a person misses the phone class, they can learn by the e-mail.  Sounds to me like the e-mail is a continuation of the phone class.
I just think we should not start that first week.
I think it is a great idea!
If something is tought in the phone class, the directions can be put out in the e-mail for all to read.  Some understand better by verbal description, some by reading and some enjoy,  like me having both!

Good question!  If any of the members from other countries sign up for the class, hopefully something can be worked out to help them.

I am hoping both beginners and those with experience will join this Team.  Sometimes it just takes a village helping each other to learn a skill. I don’t claim to be a master crafter but I enjoy turning beautiful yarn into fun things.  I also enjoy encouraging others to give it a try.

If you have ideas, please share them with me.

This sounds promising, but, how will it include our overseas members who are currently being shut out of phone classes due to phone or time restrictions?
I agree with Terry P in that the first meeting should be moved to the second Tuesday of July ( July 10th ) because of convention.
I know that things will be worked out as time goes on.

Tammy will have it on the first Tuesday in July.  That is her choice.  She told me, it will be more of a discussion to get the idea of what the students want and what Tammy will do.

Great idea!
Can we have the first class the second Tuesday in July?
Tammy and many others will be at National convention, the first Tuesday.
I understand the consept, but need help moving down to a smaller hook and I have trouble turning patterns into steps I can follow.

The NFB Krafters Division will be trying out a new class format in July.  I have entitled the new format as "phone/email combo." This is how it will work. Tammy will be teaching a beginners crochet class. There will be a conference call phone class/chat once per month on the first Tuesday evening of every month. The class will begin for those having no experience with crocheting and as the months pass and things are learned, simple projects will be taught. The second component of the class is an email support list.
All paid members who sign up for this class will be placed on an email list specifically for questions and chat about crocheting.

Another important difference for the phone/email combo class is that there is no deadline for sign-up. You can sign-up at any time or leave the class at any time.



I will place the class on the site ready for sign-up either later today or tomorrow. The only piece of information I do not have yet is the time of the Tuesday evening monthly class/chat, but I will add it to the class page as soon as I receive the info.

Meanwhile, if you have questions about this new class format, you can reply to this thread.

Tammy, Joyce and I will answer any questions you may have.
