I was told that it does not cost.  A co-worker has used it and she thinks you can make donations if you want.

They ranged from 9.95 to 24.95 or so on Amazon.  The one I picked was $17.95, I think.

I ordered a drop spindle today!  It comes with a bit of roving to get me started, as well as instructions.  It's supposed to arrive next week some time.  I'm excited!  And, there's a spinner at our farmers' market who says she'll be happy to advise me.  She has an alpaca farm, which I think is darn cool.  She showed me a handful of unspun alpaca wool.  It was really soft and fluffy.

I was inspired by the spinning chat a while back, and I'm finally doing something about it.
