[Nfb-krafters-korner] Weaving on a loom

The only problem with that Henry and I have eexplored the idea a lot, is
they don't make a loom or the cotton stuff you use to weave on a potholder
loom big enough to fit for a placemat.

I have tried the larger potholder loom 10" by 10" that Harrisville looms
make and you really need a rectangle.  You could use 4 of the 10:
potholders, but the price they charge for the all cotton potholder loops are
just too much.  Do you remember what we paid as kids to make a potholder
during the summer up at the school?  Well that same thing costs $7.50 and
that is to make 1 - 7" by 7" potholder.

They do have some sales, but no choice of colors only if you spend the big
bucks.

I have tried having someone make me a couple of rectangle looms but than you
get into how many pegs you need and you continuously weave and you need to
be able to divide the sides  into equally  by 3  and the short sides can be
twice the number and the long side can be 3 times the number of pegs to
weave,   I did have someone up in NY state make me one, but it was not wide
enough for a plate and too long for a table setting.

So don't bother.  Go to the store and buy those placemats.

What you can make them on is a table loom, but then you need to wepp and
woorp the loom and I don't like spending all that time wepping and worping
it before you can start weaving it.

Hi Daniella, yes, I have done potholders on the loom when I was a kid. I do
want to take that craft up again with different weaving projects such as
placemats etc.
I willlook into it when I get the time.

Daniella, do you have a loom?  There are many sizes and styles. I have used
some, but long ago.
