[Nfb-krafters-korner] Pop Up Flip Flop Class April 5, 2018

For the POP UP CLASS ON April 5th you do NOT need a pair of Flip Flops. The final slippers look like Flip Flops. What you do need is a pair of insoles. Insoles are the cushy things inside of your shoes.
You can purchase these at any store. You can get them at the Dollar Stores or Wal-Mart. A brand name is Dr. Scholl's air pillow inserts for shoes. They are cheap and sell for under $2.00 a pair. They have them in different sizes for both men and women.

Hope that makes it more clearer.

Cindy,

So you don't need a pair of flip flops??? Where do you get the inner soles?

Joyce

They are cool and Very comfy!

The pattern is for a child size 8 and uses an H Crochet Hook. I wanted mine to fit me so I went with a L size Hook and they came out to be about a size
9 adult. Choose your hook accordingly. The type of yarn you use also will play a factor. I used a super bulky 6 yarn. Oh so soft!

I also made a sample with a soft non-bulky yarn and loved those too. These kept their shape a little better.

Alyssa put them on and actually liked them. (You know 17 year olds liking
something mom made is a win win). She said I had to make her a pair. We
altered the pattern a little to give them a better fit.

I used one skein of yarn plus a little extra from the second skein. I would say 3 skeins to be safe.

You will also need one pair of regular insoles to fit the size you are wanting to make. It is nice using these because they are already in the correct shape and give you the "cush" you want.
