[Nfb-krafters-korner] Election question

Customarily, the nominating committee determines if the candidates have
enough knowledge and experience to do the job.  Of course, people nominated
from the floor get a little less attention.  Then the voters decide.  The
voters make the final decision, and it usually works. In the NFB we give our
presidents a lot of power to make decisions and assign jobs, but the board
is there to help. The Treasurer must be able to handle funds, and it is very
nice if the secretary can keep records.

Who determines if a candidate has the knowledge or experience? And knowledge
& experience in what?

We were all inexperienced & I knowledgeable at one time.

Can you elaborate more on what you mean?

In our chapter a person who is currently holding the office is re elected by
acclaimation unless that person declines the office.  If that happens, I am
not sure how the situation is handeled.

I am very curious about this election and wanted to place it out on list. I
do believe there are those on list that have faced this question before and
wanted to know how it was solved. I had the similar situation at a chapter
election. Hope someone will know.  If there is no one who will step forward
to run for office for does not have the knowledge or experience for the
position and the operating board can not be filledwhat happens? If there is
not a certain number on the board who makes the decisions for the group? I
know there has to be an answer somewhere. Does the NFB take over for a time,
I am unsettled about this directions, sure there is a answer somewhere.
