Hi Ramona,
My Mom made my wedding dress and vail. She felt guilty because the material
only cost $23, because everything we happened to choose was on sale. Well
she sewed all of the lace around the dress train, vail, and everyone of
those little buttons that went down the sleeve cuff. She put many hours into
it. I still have it. I wish someone I care about could ware it again because
so much work went into it. My daughter isn't someone that would want all of
that lace and fussy stuff. Anyway she looks fantastic in yellow, so that is
what she wore. Maybe a granddaughter.

Ramona, I love that you are all into sewing.

I think it would be wonderful to have a wedding dress made by the women in
my family.

Oh, wait I will have to get married in order for that to happen. Lol

We are a sewing family.  My mother taught me to sew and made my wedding
dress, very nice.  I taught my daughter to sew, but she made her own wedding
dress and did an excellent job.  I made two bride's maids dresses.  I made
my daughter an orchestra dress when she was in high school and a formal, as
well.  So we have lots of sewing memories.  I couldn't begin to tell them
all.  I have knitted sweaters for my mother and my daughter and all 3 of my
granddaughters, yes, my son and my grandson, too. They always get to choose
the colors.  I think they all have afghans, as well.    and they wear and
use them, but nobody has   taken up knitting.
