Yes, there are 2 of these machines which I have read reviews and people rank them high.  They are made in Germany and are available new today.

They are not made out of plastic and use metal needles in them.

There are 2 size and both of them can be used to make round items or flat items.  The King size comes with 26 needles and the reg. has 22 needles.

Here is a link on EBay and they are selling them as a set.  There are more ads for one or the other, but I thought you could compare them.

I think you are limited with the small one and have more options with the larger one.

I do have an antique circular sock machine that works the same way.

I remember someone used to use a knitting machine that could easily be set manually that made it accessible.  Is it a mechanical machine?  If you can tell me what it was called, maybe I can find it on Ebay.  I have a child-sized one that you crank.  It would be nice if there’s an adult size.
