I would not use nails or push pins for noise makers unless the tops of the
bottles or cans are sealed tightly.

Hi Jill,

So I'm guessing you are looking for activities that require very little to
no setup and clean up, and can be easily put down and picked back up at a
later time. Off of the top of my head I've come up with:

Origami cup
Origami picture frame
Origami wallet
Origami pyramid box
Origami water bomb (fill with water later and have a water balloon fight)

Note - I think all of these models have been taught by Lindy as a KK class.
Let me know if you can't find the info.

Make a simple bean bags filled with rice or beans. (i.e. Create a pouch
from the toe portion of panty hose or knee highs or a segment of a panty
hose leg tied in a knot at one end. Place the toe or knot end in a 8-10
ounce paper cup and stretch the open end of the panty hose pouch up and over
the rim of the cup. Fill the pouch with dried beans or rice. Tie the open
end into a knot. If you can come up with a way to make a quick and easy
cloth cover for the bean/rice filled pouch, the kids could color it with
water paints or permanent marker if you are that brave, but you really do
not need the cover. Once the bean bags are done, there could be a contest
where the kids have a chance to throw their bean bag(s) at various targets
that make noise. The targets can be simply made from empty containers such
as 1 & 2 liter plastic bottles, soda cans, and other things that can be
easily knocked over. Place various types of things in the containers that
will make noise when knocked over, i.e. a small amount of pennies, small
jingle bells, small rocks, a handful of large paper clips, nuts/bolts and/or
nails, push pins, etc. Keep in mind that if you decided to only use 1 liter
plastic bottles you can create a variety of different sounds by varying how
much stuff you put in the bottle. 5 pennies verses 25 pennies will each
sound different.

Older kids and youngers ones with very good dexterity might enjoy making:

keychains and cane toppers out of the plastic lacing or para-cord.

Friendship bracelets out of string, yarn or para-cord.

Dream catchers

You can write to me off-list if you want to arrange a time to discuss over
the phone.

The curriculum has several ideas. It needs to be related to braille or
something similar. One thing we did at our Bell Academy was make scented
Plato using Kool-Aid.
