Keep in mind that convention might be closer to your home one day.  Not sure where you are from.  Also, if you have never been, there is something called the Jernigan Scholarship that you can apply for to help first time convention goers.  

Also, Krafter's Division has given scholarships too.

Welcome to the list, I am glad. You are here and help you learn. I really wish I was going to be able to go to convention, I’ve never been. Having young children and limited funds makes it hard to do but I hope someday I’ll make it out there.
