[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Want To Know Wednesday 9/19/18

I've been making the plastic canvus stars Terry taught us to make. I have
done a number of color variations, and I am decorating them with contrasting
color beads on the points and the middle. I plan to attach one for each
person I give a present too.

Not for Christmas, but for as soon as they are done, I am working on
Heather's poncho. I didn't like the other one, so I pulled it all out. I
like it much better this time. My 4 year old grandson asked for a rainbow
poncho. I have done the red, orange, yellow, and more than half way through
the green. Each stripe is three inches wide. When I get through the green
blue and purple, I will make a narrow stripe of each to end it. Also, I made
the neck a bit too big, so I think I will pick up stitches along it and do
one row of each color to make it smaller around. My circular needle was too
small, and some of the stitches came off and it was horrible trying to get
them back on because they had slipped down quite a few rows. Now I have
bought a bigger circular needle and the little rubber tips to keep the
stitches from falling off.

Next the beads are coming out and I want to do some knitted decorations.
Maybe next year I can crochet well enough to crochet decorations.

It has been very slow at work, so I have been knitting and working on
plastic canvus between calls.

Happy, happy Wednesday to all you crafters out there.

 

There are only two days left in this week and then we can have a weekend of
crafting.

 

Last month was Christmas in August, so we could all get a head start on
gifts and decorations.

 

So, I'm curious how many of you have actually started your hand crafted
gifts?

 

How far along are you and do you think you will be finished in time?

 

I hope I'm not the only procrastinator here. Lol
