If they are posts, they could hold a scarf closed or maybe be a tie clasp, depending on the color and  if it is a manly color and not dangly.
Like a gold ball might work.

I bought a few jewelry jars at our local thrift shop and have found many earrings do not have a matching pair. I think they are too pretty to toss, so thought I could make them into pins.
Any other ideas?
