Lisa Marie,
You yarn over and go through the chain, yarn over  and pull 1 loop
back through the chain, making 3 loops on your hook.  yarn over and
pull yarn through 2 of the loops, leaving 2 loops on the hook.  For a
decrease, yarn over and insert hook in the chain, pull yarn through,
yarn over and pull through 2 loops, leaving 4 loops on hook, yarn over
and pull yarn through all 4 loops, leaving 1 loop on your hook.
