[NFB-Krafters-Korner] As 2018 comes to an end and looking forward to 2019....

Hi Cindy, I agree 100 percent with you.
I don't want to teach anymore because of these reasons. It is a waste of my
time to do it all for nothing.

I agree Joyce! I love to teach, but lately when I plan and prepare for a
class and then no one shows up, it is very frustrating or people show up but
do not have the supplies ready to work the project. You think you are going
to have 5 people in your class and you sit and wait. Very Frustrating!
Emergencies come up and people get sick, but out of 5???

I will be looking for new crafts to teach I 2019 and I certainly hope that
members join in the fun.

Cindy Z.

I wish all of you a good year to come, but I had a vew words that I hope
you will read and give some thought to.

2018 started out maybe on the wrong foot and I take my part of the blame in
not handling things better. I should have, could have, well it's water
under the bridge now.

I think we all learned something and if anyone mentions about a year long
contest I pray that the leader drops it like a hot potato.

I wish I could turn back the hands of time to when we had more teachers to
teach, more students willing to be committed to coming to classes and
participating in the class taught. Problem solving was clarified while
classes were going on and if there was still a problem teacher and student
would take the time and meet together after to get the student back on
track.

People were friendly and took the time for each other.

We have lost many teachers as time has gone by. Teachers put in a lot of
time preparing for a class, writing up instructions and turning in class
proposals, writing reminders about their classes and when the class comes
up maybe a fraction of who signed up bothers to let the teacher know if they
can't make it, forgot about it and the teacher has prepared for a 2 day
class and the following week half the students come to the last class that
had come to the first class!

We don't charge for classes and we have given you a number of unique classes
that you cannot find any where, as they are taught by the blind for the
blind.

Somethings need to be done! We need folks to become more involved and start
a few sparks going. Don't sit back and wait for someone else to ask a
question. Put that thinking cap on and look outside the box.

I remember having classes with 3 or 4 people in the class and the teacher an
myself would be there, but the class was taught.

We need you to start the conversation on the list, at the Monday Night chats
and get the leadership in this division up on our feet and moving.

When you sign up for a class have your supplies ready and work along with
the teacher. If the teacher is not teaching that way, well the class needs
to be broken down so it can be taught that way.

Teachers take the time for you to create a class and if you don't want to
work, don't take the class.

If you will miss a class at least contact the teacher and let her know.[not
just for the directions]

Our members need to feel membership entitles them to more then a non paying
membership.

We have lost some of our active leaders and we need to strengthen the ones
we have and get some others involved.
