Long ago, I used to see hot pads mad of fabric and they had, I think, beans inside.
Something dried to give them thickness and weigh them down!

What have you found potholders made out of?  What have you noticed to be a bit unusual potholders  made out of?

The loop potholders are made out of 100% cotton.  The thicker the more protective they are.

For quilted potholders they are usually done for "show" not use.  They do have fabric made especially for potholders to insulate them better and this is used inside the potholder.

Have you ever come across a wool potholder?  I am learning from a person who not only spins her own yarn, but makes potholder loops and dyes the yarn in wonderful colors.  More to come...
