[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Scrap yarn what to do first...

Did you use worsted weight yarn? If so, what size needles and how many stitches for what size blanket?
I have a lot of worsted weight yarn!
Can I put verigated in with solids?
I do not see why not!

Any ideas for baby colors of verigated worsted weight yarn. Not sure if I have enough for cleanex boxes. I might try hat and booties and see how much it takes, but is this alright to put in a blanket?

Terry

I do that with my scrap yarn. I've kept rolling it and have had a ball of yarn larger then a large watermelon. I've then started working it up into blankets of many colors for the homeless. I think I almost got 3 full size blanket out of one of my scrap balls.

If you have clean scrap yarn, before you pack it away, take and create a ball out of it, but now what you need to do is take more of scrap yarn and tie another left over to it and whined it onto that ball, but tie the ends together and keep whining all one after the other until you have a nice size ball of yarn and then you are ready to knit or crochet and just work the ends into the work.

I had told Terry K. about this going back in time and she reported back to me that she was doing that. It is an easy way of keeping track of those scraps and I learned this trick from a gentleman, who taught himself how to crochet and was using up his wife's scraps making scarves out of it.

He was selling the scarves at a craft show and his wife was selling her shawls and other items. There was a lot of conversation going on regarding how unique they were.
