I am always on the hunt for "Unique" junk to add to my crafts.
Don't ask me about the time that some friends and I created a "Junk Mobile" 
out of pieces of old cars and trucks. And, yes indeed, it did run.

People at work know I craft!
Once a lady lost her mother and I was the lucky one to receive a large 
amount of yarn and maybe 50 pieces of plastic canvas!!!
What yarn I thought I never would use, like that real thin stuff, went to my 
church's yarn closet for others to use.
Once I obtained a bunch of crochet hooks, way before I ever knew what 
crochet even was!

As they say, a mans junk is an others treasure!
Who would ever think jewelry could be made of can tabs or buttons!
Those are things, found around the home!
Also some like to make things out of popsickle sticks and some use cans.
Look at Terry K and her minatures!

Are you an Freecycle? It is an international/regional list where people post 
things they want to give away and also items they are looking for. 
Everything is free. That is a rule of the group. It is an effort to keep 
things out of landfills. One time someone requested a few pairs of knitting 
needles, because some neighborhood girls wanted to learn. I gave her quite a 
few.

Also, do you have a way to hawk the garage sales in season? If you had a 
buddy to go with, or let friends that go know what you are looking for, you 
can get great crafting stuff. A friend of mine bought me a whole shoe box of 
knitting needles, and a large bag of plastic canvus.

One time I gave a box of broken jewelery I didn't want to someone for craft 
projects.

Personally I love a box of "junk" to make collages.

Joyce has taught many pony bead classes, and Cindy Zimmer has taught us how 
to make many cute projects with things you find around your house. Also, if 
you tell your student's parents enough ahead, maybe they can save items for 
projects.

My crafting goals for 2019 are to become a better craft Teacher. I am trying 
to come up with projects for my students that are simple, tactile, and 
useful. Also the projects have to be cheap and easy to get materials for. I 
am searching the Internet but it is so hard to find the instructions for 
projects, most of them have photo instructions.
A more personal crafting goal is to sell at least one or two items each 
month, I know that doesn’t sound like a lot but I would like to make enough 
money to keep myself afloat on crafting materials.
