Hi D.

You've expressed an interest in learning spinning, which I started learning
last summer.  I got the drop spindle and roving from Walnut Farms, available
on Amazon for around $20.  I got the bottom whorl spindle, which was
recommended to me by an experienced spinner as an easy choice for a
beginner.  

The instructions were short, clear, and easy to follow.  I scanned them, so
I can send them to you, if you want.  The spindle is well-made and easy to
use.  The roving that came with it is really nice-soft, clean, and dyed a
pretty color.  

I'm very happy with the whole little kit.  I gave it 5 stars in my review.

I don't have a link, but a search of Amazon for Walnut Farms drop spindle
will bring it right up.
