Hi Tracy and everyone, yes, you twist the yarns around each other on the 
back of the project. I don't think it matters which direction you go in 
either. I also recall snugging up the stitches a bit so as not to have a 
hole in the front of the fabric.

To avoid those pesky holes, you twist the new color once around the old
color, on the backside.  Don't think it matters which way you twist, but a
little experimenting would show if it makes a difference.
