I bought a nice drop spindle on Amazon. It has a hook on top to control the
yarn, or the drop. It came with some very nice wool and good instructions.
I think it was Oak Tree Farms.
I found it by searching for bottom whorl drop spindle.

Hello, Tammy,
I know how to use a drop spindle and would be glad to correspond with
Katrina about this. The main thing is that I found myself looking for a
drop spindle without a sharp point on top. That's what really stuck
Sleeping Beauty, not a spinning wheel.
