[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Knitting help

Congrats Terry!
Tinking has saved me many, many times. It's why I don't rip out projects as much as others seem to.
It doesn't work so well with fuzzy yarn, so I'm glad you managed anyway.
I tell you, from bitter experience, don't try it with thin mohair. I did, and ended up with such a knotted mess I had to toss it and start over.
Tracy

I was at my sisters house, this weekend and after doing my boarder, I was to purl the row, but I caught myself!
I had purled 1 stitch and gone back to knitting!
I tried to tink my work, but for some reason I dropped 2 stitches, down to the next row. This yarn is fuzzy and splits easily.
I actually tinked 1.5 rows and you would never know I did anything wrong!
I almost thought I was going to have to trash the thing, but I did it!
Terry

Bigquestion, is there a difference in how you tink a knit stitch and a purl stitch. I know how to tink a knit stitch.

Knitting backward.

Tink is knit spelled backward.

For me, if I made a mistake on a stitch or stitches I just undo my work stitch by stitch until I get back to the error & then correct the error & continue with my project. If it is a big mistake, then I’ll frog the whole project by ripping out all the stitches & starting the entire project over.

> You can try to pick them back up. This involves finding the loop you dropped, then using a crochet hook to pull the closest un-knitted, ladder stitch through the loop, then the laddered stitch becomes the loop, and you repeat with the next ladder. It's hard to explain in an email. And you have to make the new loop bumps come out on the same side as all your other bumps.
> Or, you can put the dropped stitches on a holder, or pull them up to the needle any old how, then knit backwards, (unknit or tink), until you've un-knitted back to where you dropped your stitches, then start over from that point.

> I've done a lot of tinking in my time. I recently learned how to pick up dropped stitches, and that often works well, but there are still times when I have to back up for a few rows. Mittens are pretty small, so backing up wouldn't be a big deal. But backing up through a row where you've knit some stitches together can be very tricky.
