A few years ago, my cafeteria, at work, had a box for hats for the red cross.  I donated a few to that charity.
I have also made many for the homeless, that our knitting group collects for.

Through the years I have done everything from blankets for VA home and military families to sweaters for NFB projects and church craft fair, to pillows for church craft fair to scarves for special olympics and bags for all kinds of sales. Teddy bears were big for a couple of yets. Don't remember what all I used to make for Lions Club. This year pillows are fun. I can make the bottom on the machine, then make designs of texture and/or color on top. I look for yarn sale and some yarn is given to me. A friend picks up yarn at garage sales. I used some old wool yarn for anti static dryer balls; sold them at the church craft fair.
