Why not a folder for sewing, loom knitting...
I started organizing my items by craft and now I am moving all my hats into one folder, shalls, wash cloths ...  It helps if you want a specific item done a specific way, loom knitted wash cloth.

I'm trying a new plan for saving useful info people share, like Joyce's tips on threading a sewing machine, or Courtney's tips on using Ravelry.  I used to leave them all in my email, then search, but it's getting too much.  So now I created a file called notes_crafts, and I'm copying and pasting into that file, with a helpful header and dashes to separate topics.  It seems more organized, but we'll see.
