This 911 event has totally changed this country.  I work for the federal government and before then, there was hardly any security.  Now we have passes for almost everything or we have to be surched to be able to enter  as a guest!
Our piv card allows us into our building, access  to our computer and free rides on our shuddle busses!
I try to not think about it, but there is no safe place   in this world, any more.
A year or two ago, there was a shooting a few blocks from where I live and my area is supposed to be a nice area!

I was at a doctor's appointment, and the TV was on low volume. But I could hear it and nobody was paying any attention. I stood up and spoke rather loudly, and told them to turn it up. After my appointment I took the para transit to my office, and because it was a city building it was closed. I asked the driver to take me to our main office about a mile away. The stupid dispatcher started to tell the driver he could take me this time, but the next time, and then silence. Praise God there is never a next time. The dispatcher was automatically speaking instead of thinking. The irony was that she was recently retired from the military. 

I'm a very emotional person, and like Kaila I can hardly stand the sadness and terror this event has had on us.

I decided to hit pause today and remember 911. Where were you? I was in Boston where the planes took off from and the whole city was shut down.
