It's a drizzly day here in Central Virginia.  Looking outside, it seems like I should feel chilly - ready for a cup of tea and some time with my knitting.  Instead, it's still summer.  Stepping outside I hit a wall of humidity, and the leaves are mostly still green.  The basil is still abundant in my garden, and the goldfinches are still wearing their brilliant summer plumage. 

My daughter, Claire, and I watched the golden Harvest Moon rise last night - a sure sign of Autumn.  I'm looking forward to cooler days, and honestly I'm looking forward to the darker and cozier nights.  Though we knit and crochet year-round, there's still something about cold weather that makes creating with yarn feel even more delightful.
