[NFB-Krafters-Korner] My circular needles and worsted weight yarn are driving me crazy!

So, I decided to give my circular needles another try. I'm not really a fan of this Red Heart Soft yarn. It's an acrylic worsted weight yarn. I think I want to try weight 5 next time--this stuff is just so thin! Anyhow, I've run into a very annoying issue, which I'm finding difficult to fix, do to the thinness of the yarn. Somehow, I've gotten the working yarn notted around my work on the cable. This cable is really annoyingly kinky, and seems to spring around all over the place. These are Clover bamboo Takumi 29 inch fixed circs. I can't undo this knot. I was trying to unwind the yarn from around the cable, and it somehow got knotted. It's not surprising, given how light and thin this yarn is--at least to me. I'm stuck. I think I'll ask my husband to take a look at it. From what I can tell, I think the yarn is actually knotted around the cable, not the work itself. :( This stinks. It's annoying and slightly ammusing at the same time.

I've heard of getting circular cables to relax by dipping them in boiling water or something like that, but I'm a bit nervous to do it, as I'm worried about ruining the cable or something. I'm seriously considering sending these back to Amazon. I'm really not a fan of how the knitting looks. I guess I just like thicker-type projects. If I'm going to make things for my niece and nephew, I want to start by making them blankets. They live in the desert in Southern California, and it gets cold at night there, so this isn't really a bad plan.

Thanks,
Ari
