[NFB-Krafters-Korner] touchable Embroidery?

I did crewel when I was a teenager, and it's the only kind of embroidery I know, so I'd say it's good for a beginner.  I learned the various kinds of stitches from a book, then I combined them to make up my own designs.  I did mine on plain cotton fabric, with an embroidery hoop to keep it fairly tight as I worked on it.  
I learned it decades before anyone thought of the Internet, so what we had were books, but I suppose now there are instructions online.
It was fun.

Thank you. I'm not in America so will not be able to access that
service but I know what to look up via Google. Is there anything which
helps blind people who want to learn these things? For example, which
is the easiest type of embroidery to start with? Something where you
can make your own designs and feel it as you do it? I don't know if I
have ever felt crewel. Is it easy to start or do you have to be really
good first? Is it possible to do it directly onto your fabric, your
top or trouser or bed cover or what have you?
