Good morning Krafters,

We will be having our beginning knitter class at 9:30 eastern time on Thursday, April 6th. I, Jeanette Kutash, will be teaching the cast off, also know as the bind off method for taking stitches off your needle.

I know that in this class so far some of you have gotten the knitting and the cast on stitch, some just the knitting stitch, some just the cast on stitch, and some have asked for help. Whereever you are, I encourage you to join us. Listen to the directions. Get them in your head. Even if you aren't ready for this, repetition even in hearing instruction is helpful. Remember, I will always be available for help and we can arrange that. Remember, there are other people who are sitting in on this class who are also willing to help.

I sort of agree with you Ramona. It was sort of a good idea to teach more than one cast on stitch.
Wren and others, pick a teacher, any teacher, and, if it is not me or anyone else, we will not be offended or hurt.

Wren, you are welcome to join the class if you want to. It is a large group if they all hang in. Thus, it would make sense to do a one to one offlist or by phone for casting on. There is a simple cast on that some people start with. The long tail version is harder to do when your not with the teacher. But several people did pick it up, even though the class was large for a phone class. Anyone can teach you one to one if you like. It was probably a mistake for me to try to cover both stitches in one class. I wanted people to know the alternatives, but it might have confused some people. Just decide who you want to work with, and let us know. Nobody will be offended.
