I did my first one twice. First time I stitched 1/d inch from edge but there was not enough of the binding to fold over to the front. I ripped it out and did it again this time on the edge of the outside edge of the placemat. It still does not look as good. I don't know how far to the corners you have to sew before turning?

I stitched the binding on one place mat. I believe it will be wise to have
direction for the next one. I need to know your method of stitching in the
ditch.
