Hi Deb.
No, the Addi's don't have a key.  You push and twist the needle onto the
cable end until it clicks.  Some people have trouble with them coming
disconnected, but that has rarely happened to me.

Tracy, I've always wanted a set of the Addies as they are very flexible.  Do
they have keys?  I know they're expensive, but I'd love to get them someday.
Maybe I could get them for my reward if I ever get this room straightened

Thank you, yes brands, and types. Just like you covered. Are there better
types of needles to use when making hats for beginners?
