Some skeins have the ends tucked in the inside of the skein, which is easy
to locate and pull out.  Others have the end tucked in the middle of the
skeins under the paper lable.  Some people wind the skeins into a ball
before working; I do not wind mine.

How do you pull a skein apart?

I died laughing when you talked about scrubbies. Who would want to embroider
a picture of a sponge, I thought.

Some projects will not need the entire skein.  Small animals, scrubbies,
scrunchies, baby booties, wrist bands, boot toppers to name a few.  Others
may require one and one half skeins etc.

How is it possible to use parts of skeins? When I went to the fabric store
last year, I was told you use the whole skein at once.

I want to organize my yarn and use it up before buying more.  Now I must
find projects which will allow me to use parts of skeins.
