At the Hadley discussion yesterday, the presenter said she crocheted colored
squares, then crocheted around the squares in black.  When the squares were
put together, they looked like a stained-glass window.  That sounds like a
real neat way to use up some odd balls of yarn.

There is a lot you can do with small amounts of yarn!
It all depends on the kind of yarn, but here are a few.  Hair scrunchies,
scrubbies, a shawl for the homeless, with multiple colors of yarn.  A lady
did it in our knitting group.
Make a continuous I-chord with multiple colors and form it into a rug.  Hair
bands.  Plastic canvas keychains and ornaments and even cleanex boxes.
I could go on and on!
Crochet small squares and make a colorful blanket!

I want to organize my yarn and use it up before buying more.  Now I must
find projects which will allow me to use parts of skeins.
