Hi Tracy, would you please send me the directions for the embellishments
too? I think that I understand everything where it says to "See the
pictures."
Thanks again for sharing.

Hi Renee.
Here is the slipper pattern. These are just the slippers, and not the
decorative bits I made up myself. If you want those, I can transcribe my
scribbled notes.
Tracy

Materials
2 strands worsted weight yarn in Color A
2 strands worsted weight yarn in Color B H (5.0 mm) crochet hook Yarn needle
Scissors

Stitch Abbreviations:
Ch - chain
Sc - single crochet
Hdc - Half double crochet
Dc - double crochet
Ss - slip stitch
Sc2tog - single crochet 2 together
Dc2tog - double crochet 2 together
Size Adjustments
To make bigger: either use I (5.5 mm) hook or slightly thicker yarn
(probably not both though). I find that using two strands of thinner worsted
weight yarn (Caron Simply Soft, Red Heart Soft, etc) is great for slimmer
slippers/women's sizes 4-7 but for bigger slippers (wider feet/women's sizes
8-11) using two strands of thicker worsted weight or one strand of bulky
weight works well.

Biggest Piece of Advice!!! Keep trying on these slippers as you make them -
a ton depends on the yarn you're using, how loose or tight you crochet, how
wide/thin your feet are, etc. They are super easy to adjust because they are
worked from the toe down, so if you try them on every few rounds you'll be
able to make them just perfect!

Instructions
With 2 strands of color A

Round 1. Ch 2, 5sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with ss to first sc so you are
working in rounds.
Round 2. Ch 1, turn. 2sc in each of next 5 stitches. Join with ss to
beginning of round.
Round 3. Ch 1, turn. (2sc in next stitch, sc in next stitch) 5 times. Join
with ss to beginning of round.
Round 4. Ch 1, turn. (2 sc in next stitch, sc in next 2 stitches) 5 times.
Join with ss to beginning of round.

For my foot, this is all the increase rounds I need. Work the next few
rounds and see if that's true for you too, but if you find this section too
narrow after a few rounds, go back in and add a round where you work (2sc in
next stitch, sc in next 3 stitches) 5 times. Remember though that the
slippers stretch quite a bit, so it may seem small but end up being the
right size!

Rounds 5-11. Ch 1, turn. Sc in each stitch around. Join with ss to beginning
of round.

Note that at this point we are no longer increasing, so if you're seeing
your slipper get wider and wider you might accidentally be increasing when
you turn at the beginning of each round or when you end each round. Make
sure you have the same number of stitches for each of these 7 rounds!

At the end of round 11, fasten off and weave in ends.

With 2 strands of Color B, join yarn where the
pictures indicate.
Rounds 12-13. Ch 1, turn. Sc in each stitch around. Join with ss to
beginning of round.

Now we're working in rows!

Rows 14-30 (or however many rows you need to make it fit snugly on your
foot! I'm about a US 7.5 and working until row 30 seems to work well). Ch 1,
turn. Sc in next 13 stitches (or however many you need on end the row at
about the same place as in the picture below).
Fasten off and weave in ends!

Now comes the fun part! Fold the heel (what we were just working on) in half
so that it looks like the picture (we are going to join it inside out so you
don't see the seam on the outside).
Ch 1, then slip stitch the inside stitches from each side together like the
pictures. Once you get to the end, fasten off and weave in the ends.
Now join the yarn in the back middle of the heel.
Fold the heel back so that it looks like a shoe. We're getting close!
Ch 1, sc evenly around the top of the shoe. To pace myself, I like to work
one sc for each sc row we worked, as pictured.
When you get to this corner, just keep single crocheting across that row
(Row 13) and then pick up again on the corner and keep pacing yourself
across the top of the sc rows!
When you get to the end, join with ss to beginning of round.
ote that how tightly or loosely you work this next round really determines
how snugly these fit. I suggest trying on the slippers again at this point
to see if you want to make this round super tight or if you should work
loosely!

Ch 2, dc2tog, dc in next stitch, hdc in next stitch, sc in next stitch, ss
in each stitch around until you get to the last five stitches in the round.
At that point, sc in next stitch, hdc in next stitch, dc in next stitch,
dc2tog, join with ss to beginning of round. Fasten off and weave in ends!
