[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Help me plan another Quilting Class, please

Hi Joyce,
Are these classes for hand sewing or with sewing machines? I am interested
in hand sewing classes. I have done some hand sewing in the past, but it has
been a while. Depending on how things go, I may be interested in learning to
use a sewing machine, but obviously I would be a beginner with that, so
these classes may be more advanced.

Thanks so much for giving more clarification for these classes.

Take care,

Lucy

Subject: [NFB-Krafters-Korner] Help me plan another Quilting Class, please

I am planning ahead for November, but I want to know what you would like me
to do?

The project and technique I will be teaching is Type of quilt technique:
Rag Quilting

Project: Holiday Apron

I am also going to offer some embroidered blocks to make this apron
"Special".

So would you like me to make up a kit with all fabrics cut into blocks and
pre cut the fringe areas , along with the 4 embroidered blocks?

Would you like just the 4 embroidered blocks?

Would you like to pick out your own fabrics, cut out the blocks and fringe
the edges after you sew it together?

This apron is made out of flannel. Once it is sewn together you need to
wash it and dry it so the fringe will do the fraying and turn it into the
"rag" Apron.

Many folks enjoy doing this as quilts due to easy sewing, and after the
washing & drying the flannel gets softer and feels really good. I can't
give you prices on the kits until I get some ideas of what you folks want me
to do. This class is planned for the last week of October and the first 2
weeks of November.

I will need to figure out the yardage and will post this on the website for
sign up to give all of us a chance to check out what will work best.

I am thinking of doing the embroidered blocks out of a cream color flannel.
That will allow for the embroidery to show off the colors of threads used.
