The wire that you are referring to is called memory wire. It's easier to
cut if you use the memory wire pliers.

Hi Kathy M.
I think I have the same kind of wire. I'll see if its paper is still with
it.
I made a mistake on my first try with it. I either had too few coils, or
too many big beads. Whichever, it wouldn't stay wrapped. I'll have to try
to remake it with smaller beads.
Tracy

Ramona, A few short years ago I bought some wire that is permanently shaped
into a coil, like a spring almost. I have two sizes: one has coils the
size of a necklace and the other is coiled the size of a bracelet. It's
very hard, but you cut it to be the size, or number of coils, you desire. I
made a very nice bracelet by cutting a length that was three coils long. I
placed four beads with smaller beads between each of them. I glued each of
the four larger beads in place evenly around the wire and just let the
smaller beads slide back and forth on the wire between the larger beads.
Then I used a tool to make a loop at each end to hide the sharp edges.
That coiled wire comes in gold color and in silver. I wish I could remember
what that wire is called. It must be tempered or something, because it's
very hard and difficult to cut; but it's worth it. Has anybody seen this
wire before? Cathy Miller

A bracelet that can wrap around sounds like a great idea to me, especially
if you could wrap it more than once. That should make it fit any arm and
stay on. I bet the jewelry makers could tell us how to finish the ends so
there are no sharp points.

Are usually have sighted assistance to help me with the right and wrong size
of fabric. If they are solids sometimes it doesn?t matter. To keep them all
facing the same way I laid them in a stag and then pin them with a large
safety pin altogether facing the correct way. I learned that trick from
Joyce.

Mary knowledge., were you there last night? If so, it would have been good
to speak up. We had few enough students to answer individual questions.
Terry people. taught the class, and there was time to do a lot of chatting.
She covered the basic knit stitch, but there was time to go over the cast on
if anyone had asked. Feel free to write one of us offline if you want cast
on or basic knit. My email is walhoframona at gmail_com. There are others
who would also be glad to help. There is a way on the website to sign up for
beginning knitting. The website is beyond me. You need to be a member to
take multiple classes, but the first one is free. Dues are $20 per year. If
that is a problem, there is a fund, the KanestBrewer fund,? to help.

I think it is memory wire!
When making one, you do not need to glue the beads. Just string them on.
Its how you do the ends that keeps them on the memory wire!

Subject: Re: [NFB-Krafters-Korner] Magnetic beads

First let me say:
The jelly rolls are arranged with the right side of the fabricFacing out
away from the center of the roll. What I do is using [1/4" wide masking
tape][I purchase this from such places as Keepsake Quilting or other quilt
supply places] and put a piece of masking tape on the right side of the
fabric. This is better to do this while the fabric is in the roll and you
can either have someone help you pick out 15 or 16 strips that you want to
use on the placemats. You can also randomly pick out the strips, but be
sure you put masking tape on the right side of the fabric. The 1/4" masking
tape sticks well, but I have used regular masking tape, too.

Do not wash the fabric.

I ordered my Hobbs batting, and I found my stash of jelly roll strips with

We have been sent a request for help. A person used a sewing machine before
she lost her vision. She is requesting adaptive techniques, tips & tricks
for getting back to using her machine.

If you would be willing to help out another crafter, please let me know.

Thanks for stepping up!

Hi,
Yes, memory wire is what it is called. There are two sizes of memory wire,
small and large. This refers to the size of a woman?s wrist. What you do to
close the bracelet is to form each end into a tight loop. I taught this as
a class one year. Quite easy to make these.
May God bless you.

Its how you do the ends that keeps them on the memory wire!

> Ramona, A few short years ago I bought some wire that is permanently
shaped into a coil, like a spring almost. I have two sizes: one has coils
the size of a necklace and the other is coiled the size of a bracelet. It's
very hard, but you cut it to be the size, or number of coils, you desire. I
made a very nice bracelet by cutting a length that was three coils long. I
placed four beads with smaller beads between each of them.
Cathy Miller

there are no sharp points.

I am a bit disappointed with my Safety Pin Angel 4 inch kit. The Birth
stone kits is what I purchased and will be what I will use. What my
disappointment is that The beads are the color os the beads that make up the
Abngel. So I have a "Ruby" Andel, but she has gold wings! What wonder when I
was sending back & forth with the seller on EBay, When I asked where is the
red beads go? I really had an idea that the Angel was done in a crystal
bead and the angel had red in her hands. There is a large Angel out there
that has a dolls wig included and arms are held together in the front with
something attached there.

Sorry, chalk it up as, The Blind leading the Blind.

CUSTOMER PROJECT!
"Donna and Matt, Hope all is well with you. I have been busy during this
time of quarantine and completed this quilt from your Hip to be Square
pattern. I used the Stonehenge Solstice fabric from Northcott for this
quilt. When I bought the fabric, I had every intention of using the
adjustable Jelly Roll Race pattern, but then I saw your tutorial on this one
and decided to use it instead. I am quite happy with the results. Thanks
ever so much for your informative tutorials and your wonderful free
patterns." -Helen from Carrying Place, Ontario, Canada.

CUSTOMER PROJECT!

"I have made many of your kits, but this time I bought a pattern (Regatta),
which reminded me of many childhood summers spent at the beach. Being
quarantined, I was quite pleased to be able to make this wall hanging, using
only what I had in my stash. The clouds had been sitting around for a long
time, being too bold to use in actual landscape quilts. I think the fabric
worked quite well in this context! Many of the other fabrics were leftovers
from favorite projects - quilts or clothing. It was a fun project to work on
while stuck at home! Thanks for all you do!!" -Margie Stehle, Palo Alto,
California

I am planning ahead for November, but I want to know what you would like me
to do?

The project and technique I will be teaching is Type of quilt technique:
Rag Quilting

Project: Holiday Apron

I am also going to offer some embroidered blocks to make this apron
"Special".

So would you like me to make up a kit with all fabrics cut into blocks and
pre cut the fringe areas , along with the 4 embroidered blocks?

Would you like just the 4 embroidered blocks?

Would you like to pick out your own fabrics, cut out the blocks and fringe
the edges after you sew it together?

This apron is made out of flannel. Once it is sewn together you need to
wash it and dry it so the fringe will do the fraying and turn it into the
"rag" Apron.

Many folks enjoy doing this as quilts due to easy sewing, and after the
washing & drying the flannel gets softer and feels really good. I can't
give you prices on the kits until I get some ideas of what you folks want me
to do. This class is planned for the last week of October and the first 2
weeks of November.

I will need to figure out the yardage and will post this on the website for
sign up to give all of us a chance to check out what will work best.

I am thinking of doing the embroidered blocks out of a cream color flannel.
That will allow for the embroidery to show off the colors of threads used.

We have been sent a request for help. A person used a sewing machine
before she lost her vision. She is requesting adaptive techniques, tips &
tricks for getting back to using her machine.

If you would be willing to help out another crafter, please let me know.

Thanks for stepping up!

Kaila has worked hard to put together a really neat class. Her class was
scheduled for the 18th because I did not have the Convention written on my
calendar. After Kaila and I chatted, the class has been scheduled for July
25th. This gives you a chance to still sign up. Please let Kaila know if
you are interested. This should be a fun class and give you some items to
use for yourself and/or give as gifts.

I am sorry for the mix-up!

Tammy

Joyce, I am for the kit on this one. I would love the embroidered blocks.
This sounds exciting. My material is all ready for your class in August.

Subject: [NFB-Krafters-Korner] Help me plan another Quilting Class, please

Send your questions to:
