I was just listening to the Way Tag webinar.

 

My answer to your question about how to attach way-tags to yarn.

 

I just use the oval tags, and clip them to the ball of yarn with a safety
pin or a large locking stitch marker.

 

I also use my locking stitch marker and pin one oval tag to the project.  I
then record on my project tag the project, the color, the rows completed,
etc.
