[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Jewelry-making

Hi Terry. I don't know the gauge. I bought it ages ago. It's just called
bead wire, though it might have a gauge on the package somewhere.

I have some other wire to make wrap-around bracelets, but it's not as simple
as I thought it would be. If the beads are too heavy, or there aren't
enough wraps, the bracelet falls off.

Tracy;
What gage wire did you use, 26?

Terry

Yesterday, I fixed a bracelet I made a while ago. It's a turquoise chip
bracelet. It was on the stretchy string, but, after a while, the string
broke. With a lot of help, I was able to gather the chips off the ground,
and now I've re-strung them on beading wire with magnetic clasps. The
bracelet is a bit bigger than it was, because of the space needed for the
clasp, but it still fits fine.

I don't have a crimping tool, but a pair of needle-nosed pliers did the
trick. The hardest bit was cutting the wire. I forget what I used to use
to do that.

Now I have to decide if I want to re-string other bracelets I've got that
were on elastic string that has broken. The stuff is handy and easy to use,
but doesn't last anywhere near as long as wire.

Tracy
