[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Straight vs circular

Hi Tracy and fellow knitters ( and, future knitters ) Terry and I love our Denise Interchangeable needles. So much so, that she got us both another set for Christmas last year.
We both still have our straight needles, but, speaking for myself, I prefer the circular ones to the straight ones.

Hi Ari.
You could make quite a big project on a 29-inch circular.

I just started really learning to knit with the help of an awesome list member, and I now know what you mean about straight needles getting in the way. I have some Clover bamboo size 10s and some Loops and Threads aluminum size 11s, and the Clover's are always catching on the sleeves of my robe. It's been cold here, so I'm always wearing my robe. :) I kind of dread using my aluminum needles because they're even longer than my bamboo ones.

Out of curiosity, how big of a project can you make on a 29-inch circular? Could I make a blanket for a 3-5 year old child, or would I need to get a longer circular?

Thanks,
Ari
