That's a good idea Linda, and, it doesn't have to be perfect. Most flowers that I have seen in the past aren't perfect with the edge shading.

You can use a tiny paint brush and paint or food colloring to color the very edges of the paper on all four sides.  When completed the flower will have a tint around the very tip of the petals.
