Annie,
Come check out more of the classes and it will help you grasp teaching by
phone. I would be glad to be a student or a mentor. I would be glad to
talk with you about this. I think more jewelry classes would be well
received.

Take care!
Tammy

Crimp beads are what will hold your jewelry project together
forever. They are quite simple to close if you are using the crimping tool
which squeezes the crimps tightly closed and up close to the last bead. The
crimping tool is sold separately from the others and costs approximately $11
when not on sale.
I would like to sign up to teach a jewelry-making class once I figure out
how to teach successfully over the phone.

Hi Alyssa.
If you don't use crimping beads, how to you get your clasp to stay on?
Maybe you know a technique I missed?

Bookshare has a book on jewelry-making. I downloaded it, but haven't looked
at it yet.

Thanks for your responses. I'll have to look on Amazon for some
charms; they have an overwhelming selection. Smiles.
Tracy, NYC is one of my favorite places! I've visited a couple times
and want to live there someday. I love the energy of the city!
I haven't worked with crimping beads yet, either.

Thanks
Alyssa

I do have both near me. I should look online at both stores' websites; I bet
they'll ship so I don't have to arrange transportation. I get most things
from Amazon anyway, but sometimes I forget there are other places online.
Lol. Thanks for the suggestion!

We use to have a dog store at the mall here and they had some nice
charms cheep. They closed down after some family stuff this last
January.

Joanns has a lot of sales today, 40 percent off of regular items and
other things.

Sometimes i find if I put things in my cart then walk away, a few days
later I get a coupon or two for free or cheep shipping so on. Along
with 30 percent off regular items.

Hi,

It's been a long time since I've been involved in this list, but the
subject of plastic canvas made me want to look.

Anyway, I think what you might want is called Seven Count or larger
square sheets.? Just ask Terry Powers. :)

Hi Amy and everyone, Plastic Canvas is the common name for this product here
in the states. I have heard it refered to as plastic grid by some.
Hope this helps you.

Hi Lea and Alyssa, we try to catch sales and times when they have deep
discounted coupons too and free shipping when the order is over a certain
amount.
Alyssa, yes, Jo Anns will ship to your home, which right now is more
convenient than trying to get a ride to the store for curbside pick ups.
I haven't looked to see if a company called Consumer Crafts has charms.
Hope this helps you ladys.

Hi Sharon!
Long time, no see!
I wondered what happened to you!
I am off for another 2 weeks, so write and send me your e-mail and phone,
please.
Everyone, Sharon helped me transcribe my book, from braille back to
electronic form and we changed how we labeled each square!
A big thanks goes out to Sharon, for those who are out of the US and got an
e-mail copy of my book, directly from me!

Hi,

It's been a long time since I've been involved in this list, but the subject
of plastic canvas made me want to look.

Anyway, I think what you might want is called Seven Count or larger
square sheets. Just ask Terry Powers. :)

Hth,

Hi all.? I hope you are staying well and safe, as I am, mostly.

I am currently not a paying member of NFB Krafters.? However, I kept
instructions from a past email class I had taken when I was a
participant.? So now, someone wants me to send a good resource for plarn
instructions.? May I have permission to paste it into an email message,
or at least write down the steps, please? Unfortunately, I did not keep
the name of the author of this class, though I kept at least part of the
below Subscription information NfB Krafters Korner info.? Was it Terry
Knox?

And just in case you didn't know, Greg Capps, who gave directions to
making a no-sew face mask, is now a contributor to the Yarn, Hook and
Needle column in The Blind Post email newsletter and would like craft
project suggestions.? So I would appreciate being allowed to share the
instructions.

Thanks much,

Hello,

The understanding on this list is that we do not share patterns here. Of
course you can share them privately with some one. The best way to share a
pattern here is to teach a class.

Hope this helps.

May God bless you.

So now, someone wants me to send a good resource for plarn instructions.
May I have permission to paste it into an email message, or at least write

information NfB Krafters Korner info. Was it Terry Knox?

Hi Bernice and The Ever Adorable Lolo, we are on the first floor of a three
story condo building.
Terry wanted a first floor unit because of her orthopedic issues. We do like
it here, and, will be content if this is where we are supposed to live
forever.

My balance is getting pretty bad, so this has to be one floor living. Not
easy to find laundry on the first floor.

Hi Bernice and the ever Adorable Lolo, that is great news indeed!
Terry and I were toying with the idea of moving to a place called Leisure
World which is a Senior community that has activities, super close shopping
centers ( like right across the street from the main entrance ) and other
conveniences. You might have resparked a new interest for us to investigate
it some more.
Actually, we are leaving our future and where we live up to God. We are real
close to Family and Friends and other conveniences right here.

Bernice, I have only known one other person to sell a house in one day. That
is truly remarkable. Good luck in finding something that works given your
transportation needs and all the things we take into consideration when we
move. As exciting as this is for you, I wouldn't want to be in your place
because for me this would be the harder part. Still, you've gotten this far
so let us know when you have a new place to live and good luck with the
closing, etc.

Praise God, I sold my house in one day being listed. It is certainly a
sellers market. Housing prices are quite inflated, so I'll have to pay more,
of course to buy just the right house. Getting ready for all of this is why
I've been missing my classes. I plan to look every day for just the right
house to move to. It is exciting, and daunting the amount of work I'm
needing to do, but I am ready for it.

I get many ideas from going to craft fairs, and expanding on them or copying
them. Of course the classes here give great ideas also.

I don't know if anybody remembers, but when I started making Dixie's monthly
dishcloths I wondered in an email if people really used them for dishcloths.
Well a friend gave me 2 she made for my birthday and I actually use them in
my kitchen. I love them.

Hi all,
JoAnns has some of its jewelry making supplies (beads and charms) for
half off right now.
I've been investigating Consumer Crafts and Bolek's crafts. I've never
heard of either. Both seem to have a good selection. Now the hard
part-- deciding what to get! Thank you for the suggestions. I'm always
excited to find new resources for craft supplies!
Tracy, to answer your question about how I attach clasps to the wire--
I just make an end loop around the clasp. I put the clasp on the wire
near the end and use a needle-nosed pliers to bring the shorter end
towards the longer piece and close the loop. If I hold the pliers in
my right hand and the clasp or longer wire in my left, I can take the
tip of the pliers and make a 90-degree bend in the wire at the short
end, to the right of the clasp. Then place the pliers just behind the
bend and use the pliers to sharply turn the wire towards my left hand
to close the loop. Admittedly this works better with thicker wire.
I've been just wrapping the shorter end of thinner wire around the
longer piece (to the left of the clasp), which mostly works but isn't
too sturdy. Maybe I need to invest in crimping supplies for thinner
wire? I hope that explanation makes sense and that I've answered your
question.

Take care,
Alyssa

past email class?

It?s that time again! For Sale Day on the Krafters Korner Listserv!

What is for sale day?

For Sale Day is where you get to sell your handmade crafts or unused craft
supplies to those on the Krafters Korner list.

Here is how it works:

1. Make a list of craft related items you would like to sell.
2. Post the items to the list along with your contact information.

3. Make sure you put "FOR SALE" in the subject line.

It's that easy!

Please remember, all sales are between you & the buyer. Krafters Korner is
not responsible for any transaction. All correspondence is to be handled
off list.

Good luck & happy crafting!

Courtney
