Tracy,

Yes, that is what it is referring. You have to create the chart yourself and
then it can output both a chart and written directions. It doesn't actually
convert anything.

True, it creates charts, but the help section clearly says it can create
written instructions from charts.  I wonder if it means it can create them
from *my charts, once I've created one.  Doesn't help me a bit, in that
case.
The written instruction part is supposed to work if you pay, but I did pay
for a month's subscription, and it still didn't work, and neither did anyone
answer my 2 emails asking for help.  Luckily, it was only 3 bucks, so I'm
not out much.

I examined the website and the reason you had problems is because it CREATES
charts. It does NOT convert charts to text.

By the way, on Android, Excel will convert pictures of tables into usable
excel spreadsheets. Sadly, when I tried it on a small chart, it just kept
telling me there was no data. Knitting charts are like a spreadsheet table
but the data inside them is usually a shaded cell, unshaded cell, cell with
a dot in the center, cell with a line running corner to corner so none of
this was recognized. I had hoped to be able to select one cell with "image"
and then do a find replace with what that cell represented. It was a no go.
