Hi Jill.
I was thinking the same thing.  Knit-alongs are very popular in my knitting
group.  I've done a few, and they're fun.  No teacher, but people help each
other out.
And it might encourage some people to try Ravelry, which isn't as hard and
scary as I thought it was.

The only way that I think it could possibly work, is if each student
purchased their own pattern. Then you could do it as a knit along rather
than an actual class. Those are just my thoughts.
