Hi Deborah again, keep on knitting! You can take that round cylindrical thing, and, if you did a round of E Wraps followed up with a round of Purls, you will have what is called a Garter stitch pattern which will in time grow into a pretty nice looking hat. Big smile.

Thanks for the response. 
I probably will sign up for that class, but once I start a thing, I want to keep going.  
How do I keep going and turn this into something?  
I don't see how it "grows" off the loom. Right now, I have a lovely, symmetrical, circle of stitches, but don't see how to go beyond that.
Maybe it's obvious, but not to me----yet!

In
September I plan to hold a class to make a child’s beaded hat. This class is great for beginners. The class is awaiting Tammy’s approval for scheduling, so be on the lookout for the class announcement here on the list.

It sounds as though you are doing great, already learning the knit and purl stitches. You can make just about anything you want now. We often learn to make a hat first thing, which is why I am suggesting my class for you.
