Loom Knit Peppermint ornament
Supplies:
A loom with at least 6 pegs
Small amount of red yarn
Small amount white yarn
Loom tool
Tapestry needle
Scissors
If using a large gage loom, it is recommended to use a bulky yarn or two strands of worsted weight yarn held together as one when creating this project
Beginning with the color white, Double e wrap cast on 6 pegs
Row 1 slip stitch first peg, Knit 5 pegs
Row 2
Purl 5, knit 1
Row 3
Slip peg 1, knit 4
Row4
Purl 4, knit 1
Row 5
Slip 1 , knit 3
Row6
Purl 3, knit 1
Row 7
slip 1, knit 2
Row 8
purl 2 knit 1
Row 9
Slip 1 knit 1
Row 10
Purl1 knit 1
Row 11
Slip 1, knit 5
Do not cut white yarn, move out of the way .
Add red yarn place slip knot on the anchor peg.
Now repeat rows 2 through 11.
You have 2 sections of the wedges done.
The original pattern used a fine gage loom and cotton thread to make this project. The original pattern called for 12 wedges to be made. I estimate it taking around 6 or 8.
When last wedge is created, do a basic flat bind off.
Cut a 18 inch yarn tail and thread onto a tapestry needle. Seam the cast on edge and the bind off edge together. If there is a small hole in the center, stitch it together.
Enjoy!
