Subject: [NFB-Krafters-Korner] Pattern for watermelon scrubbie

I need help.
My niece purchased a hand-made scrubbie that is in the shape of a watermelon
slice, and has a scratchy texture.
I have tried the loom but the stitches look more like crochet. It also looks
like it was folded in the middle and sewn together to form the slice. It
does have a hole in the middle that is very small and is located in the fold
of the slice making me think this is the starting point.
Anyone seen anything like this and would anyone have suggestions on where I
can find the pattern?
Thanks
Tanya
