[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Socks

Along time ago, I did the 2 circs socks and made 2 instead of one.  I
remember that I loved doing it but I got away from it.  Mostly I use dpns
when I'm making one.  I've done double pointed needles for so long that it's
just my go to method.  However, I also have the Denise flex set as well as
I've used the 2 circs and I don't use magic loop.

I have a thousand projects it seems right now, but I think I need to get
back into socks again when it's close to fall.

Thanks for all your explanations, and I want to get into the books you've
told me about.

There is an excellent invisible cast on in Knitting from the Top.  I have
copied it into a braille file, and I almost always have to read it again
before I start.  There's a finger arrangement that sounds complicated, but
actually isn't, once you get the hang of it.

However, for socks I use an invisible figure-8 cast on that's in Socks from
the Toe Up, and it's very easy.
I always make socks using the 2 circular needles method, which makes 2 socks
at a time, as well as allowing the figure-8 cast on.

I think I read Sensational Socks once but I'm not sure about socks from the
toe.

I'd like doing it that way except that I haven't found a provisional cast-on
that I get along with.  I think I had one once but I misplaced it.  I can
knit, but I don't crochet, don't do magic loop, and some other things that
are a part of a lot of provisional cast ons.

Yep, socks are fun, especially toe-up.  NLS has a few books on the subject,
as does Bookshare.  Sensational Socks has good explanations of sock basics,
as does Socks From the Toe Up.
A lot of sock books have charts, which is very annoying, but Sensational
Socks has stitch dictionaries too, so you can make up your own socks
combining the basics.
And then there are some free sock patterns on the old Internet.

Yes, it was a KK class.
The ribbings I have I gathered from the NLS book Sensational Knitted Socks,
which has lots of interesting stitch dictionaries.

Did you teach the sock class in KK?

I love all sorts of ribbings.  I've been using some lately on a shawl that I

I created a list of rib patterns for my sock class.  At present, I can only
find it as a .brf file, though.
Is that what you're looking for?  If so, I can hunt through my emails for a
.txt version.
