Sort of.  You use wax and design whatever you want to remain the plain
color, with the wax.  Then, you place it in the dye and let it soak.  Once
it is dyed, you melt the wax off.

Shelly is correct with the technique to dye this fabric.  I have done
it...years ago...and it is pretty cool.

I have heard over and over the word batik referring to fabric.  What is
batik?  I know it is a cotton, but can anyone describe this a little more to
us?  Has anyone used this cloth to make something out of it?


 


I know it is a special way of dying the fabric.
