[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Hooded cowl

I'm making an interesting hooded cowl, available on Ravelry, called the
Exoskeleton Cowl. It's the hot project in my knitting group now. It has a
base in DK stockinette, then alternates 10 German short rows of lace-weight
mohair garter stitch with 6 long rows of the DK. That creates either a
hood, or, if that part is turned to the front, a soft, fluffy section. It
feels great.

Mohair is like working with a strand of very fuzzy hair. It's kind of a
pain, but the fabric is lovely, light and soft. Every time I come to the
mohair rows, I say Oh No, and every time I finish them I say how beautiful
they are. Happily, the mohair sections get shorter every repeat.

I'm making it for a present for my sister. If I liked hoods, I'd make one
for myself, too.

Tracy
